When you add or edit a language field, SDL MultiTerm Online checks whether the term already exists in another entry in the termbase. If the same term already exists in another entry, SDL MultiTerm Online asks if you want to merge the two entries.
To continue editing and thus create a second instance of the term in a homonym entry, click Cancel.
To merge the two entries, click OK. The existing entry, also known as the master entry, is displayed in edit mode. The fields that previously belonged to the newer entry are now merged into the existing entry. Finish editing and then save the master entry. Delete the entry whose content has been merged into the master entry.
NOTE |
You can use the Duplicate Filters option on the Termbase Management view to search for all duplicate entries in your default termbase source language or all duplicate entries where the target terms of the duplicate entry are not the same. |
